Castle is the heart of your town and the most important building as well. Its level determines levels of all other buildings - defensive, resource, military. The available army size, capacity of your storages, amount of produces resources depend on the level of the castle.
When you reach certain levels of the castle you will be able to recruit different immortal heroes.
The castle appear to be in your town in the very beginning of the game, but it lies in ruins, so you have to reconstruct it in the tutorial episode.
If you annihilate the enemy's castle in a battle, you automatically win, disregarding the amount of destroyed buildings besides the castle.
